Welcome to Tutoring-In-New-York.com -- Dylan Marks, MA: Great Tutor, Teacher, Writer, in New York City!

917-301-7233

Acclaimed instructor for all levels of English, SAT/GRE test preparation, basic math, and writing/research for all other subjects of the humanities, psychology and business.

Born and raised in Manhattan, when New York tutor, Dylan, was 10-years-old, his father began taking him to Shakespeare plays and that was when he fell in love with great literature. He attended Reed College, where he earned a BA in Theater-Literature in 1998. He wrote a thesis play and directed it in the college theater, also writing a long, analytical research paper in literature. Since then, Dylan has been teaching English and other areas of the humanities, initially to first and fifth graders in a private NYC Jewish school.

He received his Masters in Humanities with a concentration in English Literature at the University of Chicago in 2002. Entering a Ph.D. program at the University of New Mexico, Dylan taught his own literature and writing courses for two years. He has presented papers to academic conferences, including the MLA, and he published a short story in The New Review, a literary journal, in 2005.

He has been teaching literature, writing and philosophy on-line for the University of Phoenix since 2005. He has been tutoring college students and kids from first grade through high school in English as well in the last three years.

New York Tutor, Dylan, has also been writing graduate-level long-distance literature courses for Georgetown University and the University of La Verne since 2005. With his expertise in writing he even helps undergraduate/graduate business and psychology students with their research and prose as a private tutor. He also provides excellent SAT and GRE instruction and his students have achieved high scores.

He loves working with children and he has cultivated numerous, very successful, long terms relationships with young students from first through seventh grade. He believes that the most important task for a teacher is to awaken imagination, a love of language and intellectual curiosity in kids.

Dylan is a very hard-working tutor and he will do everything that he can, which includes finding extra materials and developing innovative methods. He inspires his students to excel in their courses, so that that they can find fulfillment and pride in their work.
